Asynchronous DashScope API
How it works
A synchronous DashScope call sends a request and returns the result in the same response. The asynchronous mode is designed for long audio files or jobs that take a while to finish. Instead of one request, it uses a two-step submit-and-poll workflow that avoids request timeouts:
- Step 1: Submit the task.
The client sends an asynchronous request.
After the server validates the request, it creates the task and returns a unique
task_idrather than running the job right away.
- Step 2: Get the result.
Use the
task_idto call the query endpoint, polling until the task finishes.When the task completes, the query endpoint returns the final recognition result.

When submitting tasks using the new endpoint (https://{WorkspaceId}.ap-southeast-1.maas.aliyuncs.com), you must include the parameters object in the request body. Even if you do not need to set any parameters, you must pass an empty object {}. Otherwise, the task can be submitted successfully, but the recognition will fail.

Submit task
Submits a speech recognition task. The endpoint returns asynchronously; your application polls the task status using the Query task.

inputobject (Required) The input parameter object. Properties file_urlsarray[string] (Required) A list of URLs that point to audio or video files. Supports HTTP and HTTPS. A single request accepts only 1 URL. When the audio file is stored in Alibaba Cloud OSS, the RESTful API also accepts temporary URLs prefixed with oss://. Important - Temporary URLs expire after 48 hours. Do not use them in production. - The file upload credential endpoint is rate-limited to 100 QPS, and the limit cannot be raised. Do not use it for production, high-concurrency, or stress-testing scenarios. - For production, store files in stable storage such as Alibaba Cloud OSS to keep them available long-term and to avoid throttling. - If the OSS temporary URL is not publicly accessible, set X-DashScope-OssResourceResolve to enable in Request headers (this approach is not recommended). For example, [0] recognizes the first track, and [0, 1] recognizes the first and second tracks simultaneously. If you omit this parameter, only the first track is processed. Important Each specified track is billed separately. For example, requesting [0, 1] for a single file generates two separate charges. Default value: [0]. special_word_filterstring(Optional) Specifies the sensitive words to handle during speech recognition. You can configure different handling actions for individual sensitive words. For details, see Sensitive word filter. diarization_enabledboolean(Optional) Whether to enable speaker diarization. Disabled by default. Applies only to mono audio. Speaker diarization is not supported for multi-channel audio. When enabled, the recognition result includes a speaker_id field that distinguishes individual speakers. Note When speaker diarization is enabled, keep the audio duration under 2 hours. Longer audio may cause recognition failures or timeouts. For an example that uses speaker_id, see Recognition result. Default value: false. speaker_countinteger(Optional) Important Effective only when speaker diarization is enabled (diarization_enabled set to true). A reference value for the number of speakers. Valid range: integers from 2 to 100, inclusive. By default, the algorithm detects the speaker count automatically. Setting this value guides the algorithm toward the specified count, but the exact count is not guaranteed. language_hintsarray[string](Optional) The language code for recognition. | audio_format | string | The format of the audio in the source file. |
| channels | array[integer] | The audio track index information in the source file. Returns [0] for single-track audio, [0, 1] for dual-track audio, and so on. |
| original_sampling_rate | integer | The sample rate of the audio in the source file (Hz). |
| original_duration_in_milliseconds | integer | The original duration of the audio in the source file (ms). |
| channel_id | integer | The index of the transcribed audio track, starting from 0. |
| content_duration_in_milliseconds | integer | The duration of the content in the audio track that is identified as speech (ms). Important Billing is based on speech content duration only (non-speech parts are not metered). Speech duration is typically shorter than total audio duration. The AI-based speech detection may have minor discrepancies. |
| transcript | string | The paragraph-level speech transcription result. |
| sentences | array | The sentence-level speech transcription result. |
| words | array | The word-level speech transcription result. |
| begin_time | integer | Start timestamp (ms). |
| end_time | integer | End timestamp (ms). |
| text | string | The speech transcription result. |
| speaker_id | integer | The index of the current speaker, starting from 0. This is used to distinguish different speakers. This field is displayed in the recognition result only when speaker diarization is enabled. |
| punctuation | string | The predicted punctuation mark after the word, if any. |
